The Eco-Tree Program is a collaboration between World Tree, farmers and investors.
Investors will receive a share of World Tree’s 2023 vintage of Empress Splendor tree farms. Capital will be used to fund up to 1000 acres of trees planted at farms in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico and in the United States.
Trees will be harvested in approximately 10 years and any profits are shared between the farmers, the company and investors.
World Tree aims for at least 75% survival. The chart on the left demonstrates the impact of survival on potential returns.
Yield per acre varies between 15,000 and 30,000 board feet. The example on the left is based on 22,000 bf.
Price depends on quality and finish of the lumber and currently ranges from $3 - $14 per bf.
The Empress Splendor is an extremely high growth rate hardwood tree. Non-invasive and 100% natural, our Empress trees are extremely beneficial to the environment.
While most trees take 20-50 years to reach harvest age, the Empress tree can reach hardwood maturity in just 8-12 years. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the Empress tree regrows from the stump – making it a regenerative force of nature and a sustainable source for the increasing lumber demand.
One acre of Empress trees planted can offset your carbon footprint for 10 years, as well as providing a host of other ecological benefits.
With market demand expected to quadruple any 2050, there is increased pressure to find a reliable alternative to at-risk species such as cedar, redwood, birch and ash. World Tree is meeting this market demand with our beautiful, versatile lumber.
Known as the ‘aluminum of lumber’, the Empress produces wood with the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any tree. Empress built products can save suppliers potentially hundreds of thousands on shipping expenses alone.
